I just have a life and school and a new-ish job and I’m trying to be more social and I’m going to more concerts and I was taking advantage of the no-snow weather to bike and hike and have fun outdoors and love life and talk to people about loving people and teaching preschoolers to be full-time awesome like me! woo! I love you guys.

The animal handlers at the Oregon Zoo took baby elephant Chendra around to meet some of the other animals one day before the zoo opened. The sea lions were her favorite!

i was looking at this thinking “UR DOIN IT WRONG!” but i thought maybe starbucks did it differently.

BECAUSE

A caramel macchiato is made affrogato style, which means the shots float on top of the foam. Shots expire in ten seconds, and pull on most Starbucks espresso machines between 18-23 seconds. THEREFORE if you start steaming your milk, then pull your shots and pump your syrup (which goes on the bottom of this particular drink), your milk will be done at about eh… 20 or so seconds into the shots being pulled. Then your milk goes into the cup and you have ~ 10 seconds to get your shots on top before they expire. Top it with caramel because Starbucks loves to give you coffee with your sugar in the morning, and you have a perfect caramel macchiato. This is called sequencing, which is a big part of why your Starbucks barista can make a latte in about 1/4 the amount of time you can get it at a local coffee shop.

Don’t get me wrong, local coffee shops usually have much better espresso, and their drinks are far superior, but HATERS GONNA HATE.
